Johann Hartmann von Roggenbach (born April 11, 1620 , † October 16, 1683 at Altshausen Castle ) was from 1667 to 1683 Landkomtur of the Deutschordensballei Swabia-Alsace-Burgundy .

Life

As early as 1634 Hartmann was in the service of the imperial army in action against the Swedes in the defense of the Capuchin monastery in Freiburg. A first application for admission to the order failed in 1642, as no knights were accepted into the Ballei at that time. In 1649 he was named as House Commander of Freiburg and 10 years later he appears as the real Commander of the Teutonic Order of Freiburg, but also took on inspection tasks for the Kommende on Mainau . 1660–1666 he was Commander of the German Order Coming Beuggen and 1666–1676 Commander of the German Order Coming Mainau. Practically at the same time he became the Landkomtur of the Deutschordensballei Schwaben-Alsace-Burgundy. A report has been received about his trip to Mergentheim in 1667 , where he obtained his confirmation from the Hoch- und Deutschmeister, which also lists the expenses for the trip and payments to the officials of the order - it was quite expensive to get into the office of To buy Landkomturs. In 1677 Hartmann ceded the Kommende Mainau almost entirely to Johann Georg Rinck von Baldenstein.

Hartmann resided in Altshausen Castle as the Landkomtur. He had a seat in the Swabian Reichsgrafenkollegium (and thus a curate vote in the Reichstag) and first place on the Count's bench of the Swabian district assembly .

Hartmann comes from the old ministerial family von Roggenbach and was born as the son of Hans Hartmann von Roggenbach and Maria Susanna von Zu Rhein and had 14 siblings. One of his brothers was Johann Konrad I von Roggenbach , Prince-Bishop of Basel.
