Johann Heinrich Christoph Trefurt

Johann Heinrich Christoph Trefurt (born June 24, 1806 in Göttingen ; † November 20, 1852 ibid) was a German physician who taught as a professor at the University of Göttingen .

Life

Trefurt was the son of the superintendent Johann Philipp Trefurt in Göttingen. He began studying medicine in Göttingen in 1824 and graduated in 1829 with a doctorate. med. from. During his studies he was a member of the Corps Hannovera . After completing his studies, he undertook an academic trip for further training, which took him via Würzburg to Paris. After his return he settled in Göttingen and, after completing his habilitation, became a lecturer in obstetrics and forensic medicine at the Georg-August University. In 1842 he became an associate professor and in 1848 a full professor of medicine at the University of Göttingen.

Since 1840 he was one of the editors of Haefer's archive .
