Johann Heinrich Ringier
Johann Heinrich Ringier (baptized July 3, 1668 in Walkringen ; † May 10, 1745 in Bern , legal resident in Zofingen and from 1716 in Bern) was a Swiss theologian .
Life
Johann Heinrich Ringier studied theology at the High School in Bern, England , France and in Franeker with Hermann Alexander Roëll and married Magdalena Salome Fellenberg in 1700 . He served for several years as a field chaplain in the Dutch regiments of Mülinen and Tscharner . In 1699 he became pastor in Zimmerwald , in 1707 in Seeberg . In Bern he became professor of Greek in 1715 and of systematic theology from 1734. In 1718, Ringier wrote Bern's negative response to the Lausanne Academy in the dispute over the Formula Consensus .
