Mülinen
The von Mülinen family are an Aargau knight dynasty from Mülligen AG , later Habsburg ministerials in Switzerland . The Mülinen have been part of the Bernese patriciate since the 15th century . Some family members carried the title of Count of Mülinen . The sex died out in the male line in 2008.
history
The earliest known bearer of the name is Peter von Mülinen († 1287), Schultheiss von Brugg . His son Berchtold († 1344) acquired the dominions of Kasteln and Ruchenstein in 1301 or 1311 . Henmann († 1421) became a citizen of Bern in 1407 and, from 1414, Lord of Schinznach . Hans Friedrich († 1491) acquired the rule of Brandis through his marriage to Barbara von Scharnachthal and thus founded the Bern branch.
According to the family chronicler Berchtold von Mülinen, the "Ida from Aargau" with whom King Rudolf von Habsburg fathered the illegitimate son Albrecht von Löwenstein († 1304) was Ida von Mülinen.
