Johann Heitzinger

Johann Heitzinger (born May 2, 1879 in Wels ; † September 12, 1947 in St. Pölten ) was an Austrian politician ( CS ), member of the Lower Austrian state parliament , regional councilor and member of the national council .

Life

Johann Heitzinger was born on May 2, 1879 in Wels. After attending school, he joined the Imperial and Royal State Railways in 1896 . There he worked as a locksmith's assistant, engine driver and machine foreman. From 1914 until demobilization he served in the railway regiment . In 1896 he became a member of the Catholic journeymen's association. Later he became chairman of the local group St. Pölten of the union of Christian railroad workers and secretary of the Christian workers' associations and unions in the quarter above the Vienna Woods. He was also a local councilor in St. Pölten.

As early as 1919 he was elected to the joint state parliament of Lower Austria , after the separation of Vienna from Lower Austria into the state parliament of Lower Austria-Land . In 1920 he resigned his mandate in the state parliament and entered the national council. There he stayed in the I. , II. , III. and IV. legislative period. After parliament was shut down in 1934, Heitzinger became a state councilor in Lower Austria and remained so until the "Anschluss" . He died on September 12, 1947 in St. Pölten.
