Johann Jakob Wülfing (born January 26, 1732 in Elberfeld (today a district of Wuppertal ); † September 10, 1801 there ) was Mayor of Elberfeld.

Wülfing was born the son of the businessman Anton Wülfing (1691–1771) and his wife Christina Gertrud Berninck (1707–1732). He was baptized on February 2, 1732. His paternal grandfather, Johannes Wülfing (Mayor, 1649) had been mayor several times, just as his uncle Johannes Wülfing (Mayor, 1683) held this office in 1719. His son-in-law Peter de Weerth also became Elberfeld's mayor.

Wülfing married Theodora Helena Elisabeth Pütter (1753–1780) on June 5, 1772, with whom he had four children. He was first elected to the Elberfeld Council in 1773, to which he initially belonged until 1774. A year later, in 1775, he became mayor and was therefore city judge in 1776. Afterwards he belonged again to the council from 1777 to 1781 and in 1782 and 1783 he was a second time mayor and magistrate. Then he was again from 1784 to 1796 in the council of the city of Elberfeld.
