Johann Kiefersauer

Johann "Hansi" Kiefersauer (born December 14, 1948 in Lenggries , Upper Bavaria) is a German comic artist .

Among other things, he draws the “Käpt'n Blaubär” comic books. His comic strip series “Dr. Bubi Livingston ”appears as a weekend supplement in the WAZ ( Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung ).

As a small child he was drawn to comics and drew his first characters. Inspired by the American underground, he took up this idea again in his youth. When he helped design the layout of the newspaper for the Munich city newspaper Blatt , he was also able to publish his first own comics and cartoons in the newspaper . This caught the attention of other comic artists in Munich and a joint project called Zomix was created , a comic book of which eleven issues were produced.

But at this point in time, Kiefersauer was still a long way from becoming a professional comic artist. He worked as a musician, fortnightly for the newspaper and received lettering orders from publishers such as Carlsen Verlag ( Spirou and Fantasio ) and Volksverlag ( U-Comix , Schwermetall ) . In addition to self-published publications such as calendars ( Cheer up!), Books (Frigobert) and comic magazines (Zomix, Rad ab! ) , He later produced many works for various magazines and publishers. Together with other illustrators, the Honk-Studios were founded in 1990 , a studio community that in 2006 also included the illustrators Detlef Surrey , Silvia Christoph and Peter Pfeiffer in addition to Johann Kiefersauer .

Then Walter Moers , the inventor of the famous Käpt'n Blaubär, offered the Honk studios to draw the weekly Blaubär comics and the Blaubär merchandising products. Since 1994 the draftsman has been doing this work on behalf of the WDR .
