Sigrid Sternebeck

Sigrid Sternebeck (born June 19, 1949 in Bad Pyrmont ) is a former second generation terrorist of the Red Army Faction (RAF).

Life

After the birth of her daughter in 1968, Sternebeck broke off her schooling with secondary school leaving certificate and learned the profession of photographer. In 1971 she moved to Hamburg, where she was involved in the Red Aid . During her participation in a squatting, she got to know Susanne Albrecht , Karl-Heinz Dellwo , Silke Maier-Witt , Monika Helbing and Bernd Rößner .

After leaving her boyfriend and daughter, she moved into a shared flat with Susanne Albrecht and Silke Maier-Witt in 1973. The three women became known as "Hamburg aunts" in the squatter and street fight scene. Sternebeck had been a member of the RAF since 1977.

In 1980 she fled to the GDR . She settled there with the help of the GDR State Security and married Ralf Baptist Friedrich . After the end of the SED dictatorship , Sternebeck was arrested on June 15, 1990 together with Friedrich in Schwedt / Oder . In 1992 she was sentenced to eight and a half years imprisonment for her involvement in the attack on Alexander Haig and in the murder of Hanns Martin Schleyer . Sternebeck lives in northern Germany as a photographer.
