Johann Ledolter

Johann Ledolter , also Hans Ledolter , (born May 12, 1950 in Edlach an der Rax ) is an Austrian hotelier, politician ( ÖVP ) and former member of the Federal Council and the National Council in Austria.

education and profession

Johann Ledolter attended the Edlach elementary school and then switched to the Wiener Neustadt secondary school. He finally continued his training at the Wiener Neustadt Commercial Academy , where he graduated from high school in 1969. He did military service between 1969 and 1970 and then studied business administration at the Vienna University of Economics from 1970 to 1974 . In June 1974 he took over the Hotel Peterhof in Edlach, where he passed the hospitality test in 1979. Since 2006, Ledolter has been chairman of the “ Vienna Alps ” tourist destination in Lower Austria.

Political offices

Ledolter joined the ÖVP Reichenau an der Rax in 1975 and worked in the team of the later Deputy Governor Ernest Gabmann in the “Young Economy”. He was elected chairman of the Reichenau Economic Association in 1979 and to the local council in 1980. In 1982 he took over the function of community party chairman, in 1985 the office of vice mayor with finance and economics. In 1995 he was elected mayor of Reichenau an der Rax. He also ran for the state elections in Lower Austria in 1998 and represented the ÖVP in the Federal Council between January 1, 1999 and April 23, 2003 and in the National Council between April 28, 2003 and October 29, 2006.

In October 2017 he announced his retirement as Mayor of Reichenau. In December 2017 Johann Döller was elected as his successor.
