Johann Leichin (born November 1, 1875 in Vienna , † December 15, 1960 in Graz ) was an Austrian politician (SPÖ). Leichin was a member of the Styrian regional government from 1928 to 1934 and a member of the Federal Council from 1945 to 1949 .

After elementary school Leichin attended the community school and learned the profession of gilding. From 1911 he worked as an editor in Krumau, became an editor in Klagenfurt in 1912 and was employed as a bookstore manager in Graz between 1916 and 1934. Subsequently, Leichin was director of the Styrian state printing plant.

Leichin joined the union in 1894 and was a member of the Styrian state parliament between 1919 and 1934 . Between December 4, 1930 and February 12, 1934, Leichin also held the office of regional councilor in the Styrian regional government. After the suppression of the Austrian Civil War in 1934, Leichin lost his political mandate and was interned in the Wöllersdorf detention center in 1934 . He was also imprisoned for several weeks in 1938 and 1944 for political reasons. After the end of the Second World War, Leichin represented the SPÖ from December 19, 1945 to November 5, 1949 in the Federal Council.
