Johann Lorenz Albrecht

Johann Lorenz Albrecht (born January 8, 1732 in Görmar , † November 29, 1768 in Mühlhausen ) was a German music writer and composer .

Life

Albrecht was a student at the grammar school in Mühlhausen and from April 1747 was taught the piano by the Mühlhausen organist Philipp Christoph Rauchfuß. From 1752 he studied theology at the University of Leipzig . On October 28, 1758 he became a teacher at the grammar school as well as cantor and music director at the Marienkirche in Mühlhausen. In 1762 Albrecht became a member of the German Society of Altdorf University .

Albrecht became famous for his writings on the art of music. He became famous for the publication of the Musica mechanica organoedi by Jakob Adlung as well as his Musikalisches Siebengestirn and by Agostino Steffani's Quanta certezza under the title Steffani's missive with additions and a preface .
