Johann Ludwig Ruyter
Johann Ludwig Ruyter (born June 8, 1806 in Bremen ; † March 15, 1877 in Bremen) was a Bremen merchant as well as a senator and president of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce .
biography
Johann Ludwig Ruyter was the son of a captain from Vegesack . In 1831 he founded the Migault & Ruyter tobacco wholesaler together with Gerhard Friedrich Migault (1806–1898) . He was a member of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce and became its President in 1855 . He was also a senator . Ruyter lived in the Contrescarpe . Louis Ruyter Radcliffe Grote is his grandson.
