The Bremen Chamber of Commerce has been based in the historic Schütting House on Bremen's market square , directly opposite the town hall , since 1849 . The Praeses ( President ) is the chairman of the Presidium . He calls the plenary (plenary assembly) and chairs it (Section 6 (2) of the statutes).
