Otto Lamotte

Otto Lamotte (born June 9, 1951 in Bremen ) is a German business graduate and entrepreneur.

Family, education and work

Lamotte was born as the son of the Bremen businessman Hans Henry Lamotte . After graduating from high school, he did his military service in the Bundeswehr as a lieutenant from 1972 to 1974 . R. and then studied economics and business administration from 1974 to 1980 at the University of Saarland in Saarbrücken . Lamotte completed his studies with a degree in business administration . From 1980 to 1982 he worked at Unimills GmbH in Hamburg , a subsidiary of the Unilever Group . In 1983 he joined the family business Henry Lamotte, run by his father in the second generation .

The Henry Lamotte Import / Export dealt mainly with oils and fats . In 1996 Lamotte joined the company management together with his brother Henry Lamotte; both became co-partners of Henry Lamotte GmbH at the same time . At the end of 2005 Otto and Henry Lamotte realigned the family business. The oils and food business areas were transferred to two independent companies and have since been operating as Henry Lamotte Oils GmbH and Henry Lamotte Food GmbH ; central functions were taken over by Henry Lamotte Services GmbH . Otto and Henry Lamotte remained the shareholders of these companies.

Lamotte has been married to Nicole Jaqueline Lamotte since 1981 and they both have three children.

Memberships

Lamotte has been a member of the plenary session of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce since 1998 , and has been a member of the Presidium since October 2005. From 2000 to 2006 he was a member of the SME committee, since 2005 a member of the finance committee, since 2006 chairman of the working group culture-economy, from 2007 to 2009 accounting officer and from 2010 to 2013 as successor to Lutz H. Peper he was president of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce.

In addition, he volunteers in other committees for Bremen and the Bremen economy, u. a. as a member of the supervisory board of Sparkasse Bremen AG and member of the board of trustees of Wilhelm Kaisen Bürgerhilfe e. V.

In 2009 Lamotte was accepted as a commercial member of the Haus Seefahrt Foundation and hosted the 467th Schaffermahlzeit 2011 as the first Schaffer ; a brother meal organized by Haus Seefahrt since 1545 in Bremen, which is one of the “most important social events in Germany” every year.
