Lutz H. Peper

Lutz H. Peper (born October 24, 1953 in Bremen ) is a German businessman, entrepreneur and former politician ( AFB ). He is currently the Honorary Consul of Latvia responsible for Bremen and Lower Saxony . From 1995 to 1999 he was a member of the Bremen Parliament and from 2007 to 2009 President of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce .

Lutz H. Peper is the grandson of the timber merchant Heinrich Peper from Quelkhorn . After graduating from high school (1972) and doing military service , he completed training as an industrial clerk at Siemens AG until 1976 . From 1976 to 1979 he worked as a timber merchant at Heinrich Peper Holzhandlung KG in Bremen. From 1980 to 1986 he was head of internal sales and deputy branch manager at the Bremen branch of Still GmbH .

In 1986 he took over the Bremen-based company Willenbrock Fördertechnik, founded by Heinz-Georg Willenbrock in 1962 as managing partner together with Hermann Richter . Peper had been the majority shareholder of the company since 2001, and until December 31, 2013 he was the managing majority shareholder of the parent company Willenbrock Fördertechnik Holding GmbH.

At the beginning of 2013, Peper and his sons Christoph and Matthias founded the Peper & Söhne group of companies based in Bremen, which operates as a family office and project developer for logistics properties.

Peper is divorced and has two children.

At the beginning of 1995, Peper joined the voter association Arbeit für Bremen und Bremerhaven (AFB), which was founded in January 1995 by the Sparkasse director Friedrich Rebers , the former SPD economics senator Werner Lenz and others and which lasted until 2002. In the state elections in Bremen in 1995 , the AFB achieved 10.7% of the vote and 12 members of parliament for the 14th electoral period. Peper was a member of the Bremen citizenship from 1995 to 1998.

In 2009 Peper - nominated by the CDU - took part in the 13th  Federal Assembly for the election of the Federal President in Berlin.

Further memberships

Peper is involved in various committees and offices for Bremen and the Bremen economy. He has been a commercial judge at the Bremen Regional Court since 1991 . Since the mid-1990s he has been on the board of directors of Die Sparkasse Bremen AG for many years .

Peper has been a member of the plenary session of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce since 1995, and has been a member of the Presidium since January 2004. For many years he was a member of the SME Committee and the Junior Circle of the Chamber of Commerce. As the successor to Patrick Wendisch , Peper was elected President of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce from 2007 to 2010. Otto Lamotte became his successor in the presidency . He has been involved in the Rotary Club Bremen-Hansa since 2000 .

In 2005 Peper was accepted as a commercial member of the Haus Seefahrt Foundation and in 2007, as one of the three responsible creators, hosted the 463rd Schaffermahlzeit 2007 ; a brother meal organized by Haus Seefahrt since 1545 in Bremen.
