The Still GmbH (proper spelling STILL ) - until 1960 "SE Fahrzeugwerke GmbH" - with headquarters in Hamburg is a manufacturer of forklift trucks and warehouse equipment, which describes itself as a complete supplier of internal logistics and part of the Kion Group is.
history
The company was founded in 1920 by Hans Still, originally to repair electric motors . In 1921 he manufactured the Matador light station , from 1924 portable power generators, from 1949 forklifts followed. After Hans Still died in an accident in 1952, the company was taken over by Varta from the Quandt Group. In 1968 the company merged with Maschinenfabrik Esslingen before being taken over again by Linde AG in 1973 .
As a Linde subsidiary, Still took over Saxby from Montataire in 1989 and Wagner from Reutlingen in 1997 as well as a manufacturer in Rio de Janeiro in 2001 and Stocka in Sweden in 2004.
In September 2006, Still, together with the Linde Material Handling division, was spun off from the Linde Group into the newly created Kion Group ; this was sold in November 2006 to a consortium of finance companies Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) and Goldman Sachs . In June 2013, Kion went public; later, KKR and GS Capital Partners withdrew completely.
Products
Still produces electric forklifts that can lift loads from 1.0 to 8.0 tons, as well as forklift trucks with internal combustion engines with a load capacity of 1.6 to 8 tons in diesel or liquid gas versions . Still also produces its own warehouse technology vehicles such as electric lift trucks , floor conveyors and high-bay order pickers.
