Montataire is a French municipality with 13,263 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France . Its inhabitants call themselves Montatairiens.
geography
Montataire is 3.6 km west of Creil and about 50 km north of Paris, in the south of the Oise department (as the crow flies). The Thérain river flows through the municipality and flows into the Oise a little later .

Economy and Infrastructure
Thanks to its attractive location, several international companies have settled in Montataire:
- Arcelor , the world's second largest steel producer
- Akzo Nobel , Dutch chemical company
- Still GmbH , German forklift truck manufacturer based in Hamburg , which took over the French manufacturer Saxby in 1989
- Goss International , manufacturing offset printing machines
Montataire is very well developed in terms of traffic. The municipality is located on the A1 Autoroute , the most popular French motorway that runs from Paris to Lille . In addition, Route nationale 16 crosses the municipality. It leads from Pierrefitte-sur-Seine to Clermont-en-Beauvaisis .
The Montraire station is served by the TER Picardie railway company. From here a line goes to Beauvais in the northeast and to Creil in the southwest of Montraire.
