Pontpoint is a French municipality with 3268 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Senlis and is part of the canton of Pont-Sainte-Maxence . The inhabitants are called Pontponniens .
geography
Pontpoint is located in the Paris Basin , 55 kilometers northeast of Paris, in the Valois countryside on the banks of the Oise River . Pontpoint is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Houdancourt in the north, Longueil-Sainte-Marie in the northeast, Rhuis and Roberval in the east, Villeneuve-sur-Verberie in the southeast, Villers-Saint-Frambourg-Ognon with Villers-Saint-Frambourg in the south and Pont- Sainte-Maxence to the west.
Autoroute A1 runs along the northeastern edge of the municipality .
