Boran-sur-Oise is a French commune with 2,165 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Senlis and the Canton of Chantilly . Mayor ( maire ) has been Jean-Jacques Dumortier since 2001. Boran-sur-Oise is a member of the Communauté de communes Thelloise . The residents call themselves Boranais .

Boran-sur-Oise is located north of the greater Paris area directly on the border with the Île-de-France region at an altitude between 24 and 103 m above sea level, the mean height is 35 m. The municipality covers 11.25 km² (1125 ha) and the population density is 188 people per km². The place is on the right side of the Oise . To the west is the Pontoise-Cormeilles-en-Vexin airport, which is part of the Aéroports de Paris .

History and Buildings

The place was settled in the seventh century. King Louis IX built the fortress Morancy here in the 13th century. Remnants of this fortress are still visible today.

Economy and Infrastructure

The place is accessed by the departmental roads 118, 603 and 924 and is on the railway line from Pontoise via Persan to Creil .
