Avilly-Saint-Léonard Town Hall

Avilly-Saint-Léonard is a French municipality with 887 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Oise in the region of Hauts-de-France . Its inhabitants are called Avillois . It is located east of the park of the Chantilly Castle , which belongs to the Institut de France .

The parish was founded in 1793 and took the name of the pre-existing parish of Saint-Léonard. In 1914 the name of the parish's second village, Avilly, was added.

The neighboring municipalities are Vineuil-Saint-Firmin in the northwest, Courteuil in the north, Senlis in the northeast, Pontarmé in the southeast, and Chantilly in the west.

Avilly-Saint-Léonard is part of the racehorse breeding center in Chantilly . France Galop runs horse training facilities on fifteen hectares.
