geography
Saint-Leu-d'Esserent is located on the river Oise . Here the Thérain flows into the Oise. Saint-Leu-d'Esserent is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cramoisy and Thiverny in the north, Montataire in the northeast, Saint-Maximin in the east, Gouvieux in the south and south-east, Villers-sous-Saint-Leu in the west and Blaincourt-lès-Précy and Maysel in the northwest.
history
Hugo Graf von Dammartin bequeathed a Romanesque church from the 10th century to the Cluny monastery. The monks who then moved here established the priory of Saint-Leu.
During the Second World War, the Germans stationed V1 rockets here.
