Goss International was an American manufacturer of web offset - printing machines and equipment for print finishing .

history

Goss was in 1885 as Goss Printing Press Corp founded. Since taking over the web offset division of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG in 2002 - including Harris Graphics , which was taken over by Heidelberger in 1988 - the company has called itself Goss International . In June 2010, Goss International was fully acquired by the Shanghai Electric Group Corporation (SEG). In 2015 the private equity company American Industrial Partners bought the company. On March 1, 2018, manroland web systems and Goss International announced their intention to merge their web printing business. On August 17, 2018, both companies announced that the merger of their businesses into a new company under the brand name manroland Goss web systems had been completed. The two previous shareholders of the companies concerned, the Possehl Group and American Industrial Partners, remained involved in the company. The Goss subsidiary Contiweb appeared as an independent company as a result of the merger. Contiweb manufactures roll changers for web offset presses and came to Goss as part of the takeover of the Heidelberg company.
