Johann Lukas Rhiem

Johann Lukas Rhiem (* 1656 in Coburg ; † 1729 ) was a German doctor, physicist, high school professor and member of the scholars' academy " Leopoldina ".

Johann Lukas Rhiem studied medicine, mathematics and physics in Coburg, Leipzig and Altdorf . In 1682 he received his doctorate in medicine in Altdorf. He was a ducal councilor, personal physician and physician in Coburg, and a high school professor for physics at the Casimirianum high school there. He was also interested in botany. He left behind a daughter, Regina Cordula Rhiem, married Verpoortennin.

On August 1, 1685, Johann Lukas Rhiem with the nickname MYREPSUS was accepted as a member ( matriculation no. 142 ) in the Leopoldina .
