Johann Manuel of Portugal (born June 3, 1537 in Évora , † January 2, 1554 in Lisbon ) was heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Portugal from the House of Avis . But he died before he could take the throne.

Johann Manuel was the fifth son of Johann III. of Portugal and his wife Katharina , Archduchess of Austria and Infanta of Castile - younger sister of Emperor Charles V - and survived as his only son childhood. On December 7, 1552 he married the youngest daughter of Charles V , his cousin Johanna , Archduchess of Austria and Infanta of Spain, who posthumously gave birth to their son Sebastian I (* January 20, 1554 - † August 4, 1578).
