Johann Martin Uhl ( Latinized : Johannes Martinus Uhl; * 1618 in Schweinfurt ; † after 1660) was a German physician .

Life

Johann Martin Uhl, who came from Schweinfurt, studied medicine at the University of Jena and enrolled at the University of Altdorf in the summer semester of 1645 , where he received his doctorate on June 26, 1645 with a dissertation on the plague . Uhl worked as a licentiate in medicine and was a Henneberg city physician in Schleusingen . As was customary at the time, he also gave lectures on physics at Schleusinger Gymnasium . On December 30, 1652 he was accepted as a member ( matriculation no. 12 ) of the Academia Naturae Curiosorum , today's Leopoldina . The exact date of his death is not sufficiently clear: Andreas Elias Büchner gives the year 1657 in his commemorative publication for the 100th anniversary of the Leopoldina, Karl Gottlob Dietmann in his church and school history of the County of Henneberg the year 1660 and the Leopoldina and the Schweinfurt city archivist Uwe Müller lead it with the year 1666. There is evidence of correspondence from 1660 in the Thuringian State Archives in Meiningen .
