Johann Ober

Johann Ober (born May 9, 1887 in Seekirchen am Wallersee , Salzburg ; † March 3, 1968 there ) was an Austrian politician ( Landbund , later ÖVP ).

Life

After attending elementary school in Seekirchen Upper worked from 1907 as a servant in the agriculture . In 1916 he took over his parents' farm as a farmer. He headed this until 1942.

In April 1919 he moved into the Salzburg state parliament as a member of the Landbunds . Initially only a member of the constituent state parliament, Ober also became a member of the state parliament in May 1922 in the still existing state parliament. He remained a mandate until May 1924.

In 1926, Ober was elected party chairman of the Salzburger Landbund; in this function he worked until 1934.

In the Second Republic, Ober sat from December 1949 to July 1959 for almost ten years as a member of the ÖVP in the Federal Council in Vienna .

Johann Ober is an honorary citizen of his home community Seekirchen and was honored with the title of Economic Council in 1954 .
