Johann Ollik
Johann Ollik (born July 12, 1905 in Schwornigatz in Pomerania, † January 10, 1945 in Weimar ) was a German resistance fighter against National Socialism .
Life
Ollik learned the trade of locksmith . Since 1927 he was a member of the KPD and a functionary in the Kampfbund against fascism . Because he was one of the leaders of a strike in the Tilgner steam brickworks in Apolda in February 1939 , he was taken into " protective custody ". Later he was forced to do armaments work at Rheinmetall AG . Here he was arrested in September 1944 and charged with “preparation for high treason, broadcasting crimes and possession of weapons ”. After cruel abuse by the Gestapo, he died in the Weimar stables. His grave is in the main cemetery in Weimar.
Honors
- The city of Apolda named Ollikstrasse after him in GDR times .
- A memorial plaque was attached to his house on Lauthsweg.
- On August 18, 2009 he was honored with the laying of a stumbling block in front of his house
