Johann Ostermann (born April 29, 1911 - March 29, 1968 ) was an Austrian national soccer player .

Career

The winger began his career at SC Wacker Wien , for whom he played regularly in the I. League from 1930 . In 1932 Johann Ostermann was hired by the then top club SK Rapid Wien . After two runner-up championships in a row, he was able to celebrate the championship win in the 1934/35 season with Rapid and even contribute 10 goals. It was a fabulous season for the Hütteldorfer because they didn't suffer a single defeat. Johann Ostermann made his debut in the Austrian national team on April 30, 1933 . Although he brought Austria into the lead in the later 1-1 draw against Hungary in Budapest , it was his only international match.

After five seasons in Hütteldorf, Johann Ostermann moved to SC Austro Fiat Vienna in the II. League. With the Floridsdorfern he rose back in 1938 as a second division champion back to the top division. After a war-related merger with Floridsdorfer AC in 1940, Johann Ostermann was even able to become runner-up again in the 1943/44 season . Then he let his career end with the second-class SC Gaswerk Wien .
