Johann Peter Grünenberg (born January 27, 1668 in Harburg , † January 4, 1712 in Rostock ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran professor of theology .

Life

The son of a building manager studied theology in Helmstedt and Kiel from 1686 . After obtaining the master's degree, he went on an educational trip through Holland and England in 1689. In February 1691 he became headmaster of the school in Otterndorf in the country of Hadeln. Three years later, Grünenberg became principal of the school in Harburg. In 1696 he became a chaplain in the Brabant camp with Colonel de Luc's regiment. Two years later he came to Rostock via Schwerin, where he obtained the degree of theological baccalaureate on January 20, 1698 . On July 14th J. he was appointed professor of theology and superintendent of the Mecklenburg Church District.

Johann Peter Grünenberg was married to Anna Maria, the sister of the later Rostock professor David Heinrich Köpken (David Henricus Koepkenius; 1677-1731), since 1691 .
