Johann Peter Wieghardt

Johann Peter Wieghardt (born February 27, 1966 in Lüdenscheid ) is a German painter and sculptor .

Life

From 1984 to 1987 Wieghardt completed an apprenticeship as a wood sculptor in Michelstadt in the Odenwald . From 1989 to 1995 he then studied fine arts at the Braunschweig University of Art with Johannes Brus and Thomas Virnich . After graduating, he became a master student of Thomas Virnich and was a tutor and lecturer for sculpture at the HBK Braunschweig from 1993 to 1996.

Wieghardt has been working and living in British Columbia , Canada since 1996 . In 2001 he founded the Art + Soul Gallery in Vancouver together with Ross MacMillan . In 2001/02 he worked in a studio in Ronda , Spain , in 2002 in Vancouver, 2006 in Saltery Bay and 2007 in a studio in Berlin . He currently lives on Quadra Island .

Johann Peter Wieghardt is a great-nephew of the painter Paul Wieghardt .
