Johann Peter von Montargues

Johann Peter de Montargues (born September 15, 1695 in Aachen , † after 1766) was a royal Danish major general and chief of the Oldenburg infantry regiment.

He was the son of the Prussian general Peter von Montargues and his wife Judith von Huhn .

On February 25, 1735 he became a major in the newly established satellite guard. On May 31, 1737 he was Premier Major in the Oldenburg National Infantry Regiment, where he was given the character of a lieutenant colonel on July 25, 1739 , but only became a real lieutenant colonel on November 15, 1744. On October 28, 1749 he was given the character of a colonel and on September 10, 1755 he became a real colonel and chief of the regiment. It was not until March 31, 1759 that he received his promotion to major general. On October 16, 1763, the regiment was dissolved by a royal decision, and Montargues received a waiting allowance of 800 thalers.
