Johann Schinkel , Danish : Johan Skinkel (* 1730 ; † 1790 ), was a Danish major general .

Life

Origin and family

Schinkel belonged to a Danish noble family. His parents were the Danish lieutenant general Niels Juel Skinkel († 1772) and Anne Elisabeth von der Maase.

With him his family in the male line died out. However, he left a natural son, Johan Schinkel Sommer (1786-1850).

career

Schinkel, who like his father served as an officer in the Danish army, took over as chief of the Baudissin cavalry regiment on June 17, 1785 . He has resigned as major general.
