Johann Spissak
Johann Spissak (born February 25, 1889 in Vienna ; † May 14, 1942 there ) was an Austrian working-class poet .
Johann Spissak was born in Simmering and suffered from a curvature of the spine since childhood. He therefore had to give up his job as a foundry worker after 1934 and concentrated on his literary work. He wrote stories, descriptions of nature and poems that appeared in the Arbeiter-Zeitung , among others .
In 1954, Spissakgasse in Vienna's 11th district Simmering was named after him.
