Johann Steirer

Johann Steirer (born May 23, 1894 in St. Pölten ; † May 28, 1958 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1945 to 1949, Steirer was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

Steirer attended elementary school in St. Veit an der Gölsen and then completed an apprenticeship as a foreman and grinder. He then worked in Steyr and did his military service during the First World War . Steierer was unemployed between 1927 and 1928 and then became a community employee. When the Social Democratic Party was banned, Steirer was arrested in 1934, and after the National Socialists came to power, he was also released in 1938. He then worked as a machinist. After the end of the Second World War, Steirer became a community employee in 1945 and between 1945 and 1949 chairman of the union of community employees in Lower Austria. He also represented the SPÖ from December 12, 1945 to November 5, 1949 in the Lower Austrian state parliament.
