Klamydia ( Finnish for chlamydia ) is a punk rock band from the western Finnish city of Vaasa, founded in 1988 .
history
The history of the band has been shaped by a multitude of changes in the composition of the members - only singer Vesa Jokinen has been part of the line-up without interruption since it was founded - but also by a tirelessness that has led to 24 albums and a total of well over 300 songs Has.
Due to the fact that practically all songs are recorded in Finnish (a few also in Swedish), the band is known only to a few people outside of Finland. However, the band has already toured Germany and released one LP each with the bands “ Die Schwarzen Schafe ” and “ Die Lokalmatadore ”. In Finland, the group is known for their texts, which can often be classified into the vulgar. However, there are also socially critical issues in some of her songs.
The band can always count on relatively good sales figures, but they are not highly regarded by music critics.
The band founded their own label "Kråklund Records" in 1992, to which several Finnish rock bands now belong.
