Johann Wanning
Johann Wanning (* 1537 in Kampen (Netherlands) , † 1603 in Danzig ) was Kapellmeister and composer in Danzig.
Wanning was enrolled at the University of Königsberg in 1560 . In addition to his studies, he worked as an alto in the duke's chapel until 1567. In 1569 he became Kapellmeister at the Marienkirche in Gdansk. During his tenure he composed over 100 motets . In 1593 he was only able to exercise his office to a limited extent due to illness. Therefore, in 1599, Nicolaus Zangius was appointed as his representative.
