Frank Brettschneider
Frank Brettschneider (born March 2, 1965 in Wiesbaden ) is a German communication scientist . Brettschneider has held the chair for communication science, especially communication theory, at the University of Hohenheim since 2006 .
Brettschneider is an encyclopaedist and works on the International Encyclopedia of Communication and the concise dictionary on the political culture of the Federal Republic of Germany .
Life
Frank Brettschneider studied political science , journalism and law at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz . There he worked from 1990 to 1992 at the Institute for Political Science as a research assistant. From 1992 to 2000 he carried out research as a research assistant and later as an assistant at the Institute for Social Sciences at the University of Stuttgart . He received his doctorate from the University of Stuttgart in 1995 on the subject of public opinion and politics and completed his habilitation there in 2002 with a thesis on top candidates and electoral success .
From 2000 to 2001 he was in the chair for “Public Communication and Journalism” at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . On April 1, 2001, he was appointed professor of communication science by the University of Augsburg , where he was appointed professor. On April 1, 2006, he accepted a call from the University of Hohenheim for the chair of communication science, especially communication theory.
Brettschneider has been a member of the Media Tenor Advisory Board since January 1999 .
