Johann vom Diecke

Johann vom Diecke , also Johann van Dyck (* 1585 in Westphalia , † March 16, 1652 in Lübeck ) was a merchant and councilor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Life

Von Diecke, who immigrated to Lübeck, was head of the Lübeck orphanage in 1622 and head of the Petrikirche in 1634 . In 1640 he was elected to the Lübeck council. After his death he was given an epitaph in the Petrikirche . Almost all of the equipment in this church was lost in the air raid on Lübeck in 1942. His coat of arms grave plate in this church is documented with an inscription , but currently not verifiable.
