Johann von Rogner

Johann Rogner , later Johann Baptist von Rogner , pseudonym Johann Viola (born June 18, 1823 in Vienna , † January 8, 1886 in Graz ) was an Austrian mathematician.

Life

After completing his studies, Johann Rogner initially worked as an assistant for the subjects of elementary and higher mathematics at the kk polytechnic institute in Vienna and then became a full public professor of elementary mathematics at the Styrian upper secondary school in Graz, where he also worked as a private lecturer the mathematics at the Joanneum worked.

Johann Rogner later became a full professor for elementary mathematics and total mathematics at the Styrian Landscape Technical University at the Joanneum in Graz and, after 1874, at the Imperial-Royal Technical University in Graz.

He was a member of the Natural Science Association for Styria and, as Johann Baptist von Rogner, was elected member ( matriculation no. 2523 ) of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina on November 2, 1885 .
