Johanna Chusa

Johanna († in the 1st century in Palestine ) was the wife of Chusa (often also Chuza or Chuzas ), an official of Herod Antipas . She is venerated in the Roman Catholic Church, her feast is on May 24th. For this day she is named second in the new Martyrologium Romanum from 2001. They will also be commemorated in the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod , there on August 3rd .

According to biblical tradition, Jesus healed her of an illness, whereupon she accompanied him with other women on his preaching hikes. She is mentioned by name in two places in the Bible. In Lk 8.3  EU it is said that Joan was one of the women whom Jesus and his disciples served with their wealth. In Lk 24,10  EU is mentioned that it was among the women who visited the grave on Easter morning, Jesus. The Martyrologium Romanum (2001) says that she told the disciples about the resurrection of Jesus Christ .
