Johanna J. Danis

Johanna Juana Danis (born March 16, 1922 in Bratislava ; † June 8, 2014 in Munich ) was a clinical psychologist and president of the Institute for Psychosymbolics - IPV e. V. in Munich. She was a professor of personality psychology at the University of Buenos Aires before she came to Munich in 1976 as a psychotherapist, training analyst (BLÄ.K.) and supervisor (BDP).

She is internationally known as an author. Her numerous lectures and publications deal with both psycho-symbolism in psychoanalysis and Bible symbolism.

Psychosymbolism in its understanding means the connection of personal life experience with symbolic systems such as language itself or the biblical texts. Approaches to this are the experience of psychoanalysis and the study of Bible symbolism.
