Johanna König (author)

Johanna King (* 25. July 1958 in Sankt Lorenzen im Mürztal , Styria as Johanna Eleonore Theresia Donnerbauer ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

Johanna König started writing stories at the age of 13 and published her first dialect poems in 1978. She gained experience in the fields of theater, radio plays, scripts, prose, poetry and decided in 1998 to make writing a profession. Her first novel, The Hunchback , was published in 2000. Since 2002 she has also been a board member of IG Authors Authors Austria and since 2003 chairwoman of IG Authors Authors Carinthia.

A breast cancer diagnosis in 2006 led her to meticulously record the progress of the illness and recovery in diary entries that eventually became her book Green is the Color of Hope . Johanna König lives as a freelance writer in Klagenfurt in Carinthia .
