Cole Tinkler (born May 5, 1986 in Hamilton ) is a New Zealand football player .

Career

Tinkler started his footballing career with Waikato United , Melville United , Tauranga City , Waitakere City and Waikato FC . In 2005/06 the defender was under contract with New Zealand club New Zealand Knights in the first season of the A-League . He then played for Auckland City FC and moved to Sengkang Punggol in the S.League in early 2007 . With Sengkang he reached the final of the Singapore League Cup 2007, but lost 4-0 to Woodlands Wellington .

At the end of December, he joined the New Zealand team Wellington and reached the final round with the team. There they won in the preliminary final against defending champions Auckland City 4: 3 after extra time, but lost in the final to the champions of the regular season, Waitakere United, with 0: 2. Tinkler was not used in the final. In 2010 Tinkler played in Australia for the Macarthur Rams and in 2011 in the New South Wales Premier League for the APIA Leichhardt Tigers . In early 2013 he played a game in the Finnish League Cup for the Kuopion PS .

Tinkler went through all of New Zealand's junior selections and took part in the Olympic selection (U-23) at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. In the preliminary rounds there, he was substituted on in the games against China and Belgium towards the end of the game.
