Blagoja "Billy" Celeski ( Macedonian : Благоја Целески ; born July 14, 1985 in Ohrid ) is an Australian football player born in Macedonia . The attacking midfielder has been under contract with Melbourne Victory since 2008 . His cousin Naum Sekulovski is also a professional footballer.
Club career
Celeski signed his first professional contract with Perth Glory in 2005 , but was released from his contract after 18 appearances at the end of the season. A year later, Perth signed the attacking midfielder again. Celeski scored four goals in 14 appearances in his second engagement with Perth, including a hat trick against Sydney FC . In March 2008 he moved to the AFC Champions League participant Melbourne Victory . In his first season with Melbourne he won the Australian Championship and was used in all 24 games of the season. At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he suffered a serious knee injury and was out until the end of the season.
National team
In 2005 he took part with the U-20 national team at the Junior World Cup in the Netherlands. He was used in all three games in the preliminary round and is highlighted in the technical report as a “technically adept midfielder” and “the starting point for numerous dangerous attacks”. Celeski was nominated for the 2008 Olympic football tournament in China by selection coach Graham Arnold . In January 2009 he made his debut against Indonesia in the Australian senior team .
