Johannes Bernard

Johannes Bernard (born April 2, 1926 in Berlin ; † December 9, 1989 in Erfurt ) was a German Roman Catholic clergyman, fundamental theologian and religious scholar .

Life

After studying theology at the Philosophical-Theological Study in Erfurt (today the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the University of Erfurt ), Bernard received the sacrament of ordination in Berlin in 1957 . With the dissertation The apologetic method in Clement of Alexandria: apologetics as the unfolding of theology he received his doctorate in 1968 at Heinrich Fries to Dr. theol.

In 1979 he was appointed professor for fundamental theology and religious studies at the Philosophical-Theological Studies in Erfurt, where he taught until his death.
