Johannes Laurs Christensen (born February 14, 1889 in Frederiksberg , Denmark , † April 23, 1957 in Hillerød ) was a Danish long-distance runner .

Johannes Christensen was the Danish national marathon champion in 1910, 1911 and 1912. At the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 he finished 29th in a time of 3: 21: 57.4 hours. In the run , in which 68 athletes started, only 35 were able to finish the race due to the warm conditions.

In November 1912 Christensen started the marathon of the German championships . In this German marathon , which was not yet part of the official championship program and was run over a distance of 42 kilometers, he won in a time of 2: 48: 55.5 hours and was over two and a half minutes ahead of the runner-up, the German Otto Wagner.

In 1914 Johannes Christensen changed his surname. From then on it was run under Johannes Granholm . After the First World War , he ended his career as a marathon runner and turned to tennis, fencing and golf. Christensen trained as an engineer and worked as director of the Danish motorcycle manufacturer Nimbus .
