Johannes Christophorus nurse

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johannes Christophorus Pfleger (baptized February 14, 1602 in Radolfzell ; † March 20, 1674 there ) was a German organ builder and musical instrument maker . Its organ, created in 1661 for the Loreto Chapel in Stockach , is the oldest still playable organ in Baden today .

Life

Pfleger probably lived in Bremgarten as a non-citizen for a while . He was mentioned in a document in 1643 as a “godfather” in Bremgarten and on February 3, 1647 as “organ builder in Bremgarten” in the files of the Muri monastery . He was probably the successor of Thomas Schott and carried out various work in southern Germany.

A shelf created by Pfleger , which was restored in 1975 by the organ builder Bernhardt Edskes (Wohlen AG), is now in the municipal collection of old musical instruments in the Richard Wagner Museum in Tribschen .

The organ created by Pfleger in 1661 for the Loreto Chapel in Stockach is today the oldest still playable organ in Baden. This instrument, which is more than 350 years old, was last extensively restored from 2009 to 2011 by Orgelbau Klais in Bonn .
