Johannes González
Johannes González (* around 1430 in Sahagún , Spain , † June 11, 1479 in Salamanca ) is a saint of the Roman Catholic Church.
Life
In fulfillment of a vow, Johannes Gonzáles entered the order of the Augustinian Hermits in 1463 and received a theological training there. For many years he directed the affairs of his monastery in Salamanca as prior . According to tradition, he is said to have repeatedly been gifted with mystical experiences and raised the dead. He was canonized by Pope Alexander VIII in 1690 .

Johannes Gonzáles is depicted in the black habit of the Augustinian hermits, usually with a chalice over which a host hovers. Representations of his life and his miracles show numerous frescoes in the monastery church of S. Spirito in Florence .
