Johannes Hendrik Kramers
Johannes Hendrik Kramers (born February 26, 1891 in Rotterdam , † December 17, 1951 in Oegstgeest ) was a Dutch literary scholar and orientalist. He was a professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Leiden and contributed to various standard Islamic studies , including as editor of the Encyclopaedia of Islam and author of a translation of the Koran .
