Johannes Hofstetter-Meier

John Hofstetter-Meier (* 9. March 1838 in Gais ; † 13. May 1902 ibid ; heimatberechtigt in Gais) was a Swiss textile manufacturer, Cantonal , Councilor of the Canton of Appenzell Outer Rhodes .

Life

Johannes Hofstetter-Meier was a son of Konrad Hofstetter, councilor, and Anna Barbara Mösle. He married Bertha Meier. John Hofstetter-Meier worked as embroidery - producer . From 1864 to 1874 he was a councilor in Gais. From 1877 to 1883 he was a member of the Ausserrhoder Cantonal Council . From 1887 to 1892 and from 1896 to 1898 he served as chief judge . From 1892 to 1894 he held the office of government council. He was Finance Director in this position. In Gais he was president of the Hackbühl corporation and the Sparkasse .
